Colour sorting game
- 1 orange bowl and tweezers
- 1 blue bowl and tweezers
- 1 green bowl and tweezers
- 1 yellow bowl and tweezers
- various coloured pom-poms
This activity will promote children’s hand eye coordination and mathematical ability through problem solving and testing their ideas to solve problems. They will develop ideas of grouping objects in to colour and recognising colours and naming them correctly through you talking and describe what they are doing.
Cornflour play
- 1 box of corflour
- 2 paint markers
- 1 transparent tray
- 1 bottle of food coloursing (just add water)
This activity will promote children’s hand eye coordination to manipulate the cornflour. They will use their senses to explore the cornflour and it will help maintain their focus on their activity for a period of time. To extend your child’s learning you can add different colours, use utensils to pour and transfer from container to container and talk and describe the changes what they’re doing.
